# Taylor Statten Camping Bursary Fund (TSCBF)

## What We Are
The Taylor Statten Camping Bursary Fund (TSCBF) is a registered Canadian charity (CRA BN 886254705RR0001), founded in 1972 by alumni of Camps Ahmek and Wapomeo. We are volunteer-run and entirely independent — not affiliated with or operated by any particular camp.

## Mission
We provide needs-based bursaries so children and youth from financially disadvantaged families can attend accredited summer camps across Canada. We believe every kid deserves a summer at camp.

## How It Works
Our bursaries operate through a three-way cost-sharing model:
1. The camp offers a reduced fee (typically ~30% off)
2. The Bursary Fund covers the majority of the remaining cost
3. The family contributes what they can afford

Once accepted, we commit to supporting each camper for the duration of their camping career — up to five consecutive summers — as long as they continue to meet eligibility criteria.

## Who Can Apply
- Children aged 11–16 at time of first application

- Application deadline: February 28th each year
- Decisions communicated by end of April
